1. INTRO
The camera looks dauntingly up the stairs. Each one holds a large Domino. At the top, the final piece is being put into place.

Each year, SuperBowl Ads turn more and more into Rube Goldberg Machines.
2. TOP OF STAIRS
Placing the final domino in place. Camera draws up to look closer at me.

And this year, is no exception.
Flick the dominos. Start to show a rendering of them falling down.

Ah the Superbowl. The one day a year where people actually look forward to watching commercials. It's also a day that many companies use to base their own ads on. for some reason. You can admit it. We've all done it.
Clips here of me dragging in a big dorito. And another of me sitting on the couch raising my hand.

But before you blanket copy the mechanics of what they're doing...
Show clip of me trying to explain what one of their plans are impromptu in the SS.

A much more effective strategy is to look at what's going on under the hood. Because that's what really matters. Not what something is but what something means. And these guys ARE doing something smart... The expensive way... But it's something that we all should be doing more of. So what is it?
Downstairs. I'm explaining to Jess what you should be able to do. Then a montage of me aroudn the house saying it turns into a giant dorito.
Back to me in front of the camera.

Believe it or not, there's a method to the madness. These advertisers aren't just throwing money at the wall and hoping it sticks - they're leveraging the power of psychology to create memorable experiences that stick with you long after the final whistle blows.
Reg blowing a whistle. Mad fans. Then me at night standing with popcorn as though I'm watching the game.
ME
Oh come on! That's such... Foul man!
Walking up to Jess and stopping then going back to me on the couch.

And... You know, i thought it might be cool and I wanted to share but. It's kinda like buying your partner exercise equipment or diet books for an anniversary. Anyway it is kind of cool stuff but you don't need mega bucks to have a similar effect and help your company reach that next level. That's right, with a little creativity and ingenuity, you can achieve Super Bowl-level success without breaking your company's bank. How? Well, essentially, what they're doing is building a sense of connection with their market by interacting with them and anchoring their products to household or everyday things.

And not only is doing the same thing for you easier, but, if you're a local company - by that very fact - you even have an advantage if someone advertising on the superbowl is in the same market anyway. And all you really gotta do is create engaging content that tells your story in a way that anchors things that everyone - especially your market - can relate to. And if it's local and you share a heartwarming story that's memorable, people won't just enjoy it, but if you're showing folks how you're out in the community, raising money for a good cause, they can even anchor parts of their community to you. Which may not sound as cool as

Don't underestimate the power of storytelling. Whether it's through social media, email marketing, or good old-fashioned word of mouth, sharing your brand's story is key to building connections with your audience.
Let me tell you about storytelling
ME
Nope. Not today.
ME
Listen. Number 2. Forget about flashy gimmicks and focus on building genuine connections with people. Engage with them on social media, respond to their comments and messages, and show them that you're listening. This is something I think a lot of people think they're doing, and they might come across as preachy instead of sagy? sagy? is that a word? And if you're not... Even if you don't think anyone will respond. Even if nobody responds, anyone who sees you posing a question to your public will be thinking about it. Banana. You. You had no choice but to think about it. Even to understand what it is that you saw. So ask away. Engage. And Don't be afraid to get creative with your marketing efforts. I don't mean like what you'll see Sunday. I mean creative. Whether it's hosting a virtual event, partnering with other businesses, which - if you're not in cahoots with as many people as can help you, think of all the goods that can come your way. Even launching a viral campaign, point is, thinking outside the box is key to standing out in a crowded marketplace. Often, it's just shouting your USP. I did help one client though by just pointing out in their ads something important that they do - even though everyone else does it - if it's not common knowledge then YOU become the guy who does the thing that the thing is supposed to do. It's like Kermit in the muppet movie.
